Sustainable leather shoes made with Zeology leather

This pair of sustainable leather shoes is the perfect example of a value chain broad cooperation to manufacture leather goods in an environmentally and socially sustainable way.

After the preparations in Smit & Zoon’s Leather Service Centre, the Zeology leather was transferred to the tannery. There it was repeated, confirmed and upscaled. The goal was to produce a sustainable safety shoe collection, made with heavy metal free and chromium-free leather. The use of Zeology leather significantly reduces the environmental impact of the production of the EMMA shoes.

A project between:

  • the brand EMMA Safety Footwear
  • the leather tannery
  • leather chemical supplier Smit & Zoon / Nera
